Speaking practice that doesn’t wait for class.

In a class of thirty, there’s never enough time for everyone to speak. Katasaga gives every learner their own conversation partner inside a story, along with the menus, maps, messages and articles they’d use in real life.

    What is it about?

For parentsEvery conversation runs with strong guardrails.
    • A safety check runs alongside every live conversation
    • Anything harmful, sexual or hateful ends the session straight away
    • Characters can’t be talked out of their role or their rules
    • Every story and character is written by our own team
    • Voices are never stored as audio, and there are no ads or trackers
    Read the privacy policy
For teachersEvery student gets time to speak, in any of seven languages.
    • Live conversations with story characters in seven languages
    • Real material to use mid-conversation, like menus, maps, messages and articles
    • Flashcards built from whatever each student got stuck on
    • A CEFR level estimate that updates as they practise
    • Regular speaking practice in the run-up to GCSE and A-level speaking exams
    • Dedicated oral exam practice, coming soon

    What a learner actually does

Each scene hands them what they’d have in real life, whether that’s a menu, a map, a text message, a train timetable or a newspaper article. They read it, use it and talk about it, all in the language they’re learning.

    1. A learner taking a café order from a story character, with the menu open

They talk their way through each scene, using whatever the scene hands them.

    2. Flashcards with today’s review and topics

They review flashcards made from the moments they got stuck.

    3. Performance chart and weekly goals

They watch their speaking, grammar and vocabulary improve week by week.
