How much of the language do I need to know?
Katasaga works best once you have the basics, around A2: you can read simple sentences and form a few of your own. It’s built for the step after vocabulary apps, where you start using what you know in real conversations.
Which languages can I practise?
Six today: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese, with more coming. Stories arrive language by language, and the app shows which ones are ready in yours.
Do I need a card to try it?
Not for the Free plan. The 7-day Premium trial asks for a card, and if you cancel before day 7 you pay nothing.
How do I cancel?
From your account settings, anytime. If you subscribed on iPhone, Apple handles the billing, so you cancel in your Apple ID subscriptions. Either way you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
Are my conversations recorded?
Your voice is processed live and never stored as audio. We keep the text of your conversations so you can pick up where you left off, and you can delete it, or your whole account, from Settings. We don’t sell your data or use ad trackers.

Not yet. Katasaga is on iPhone now and Android is coming soon. Until then you can use it on the web, and beta members hear first when Android is ready.
Join the betaHow is this different from other language apps?
Most apps drill words and grammar. Katasaga puts you inside a story where you talk your way through each scene with the characters, using the menus, maps, messages and articles each scene hands you, as you would in real life. You practise saying things, not just recognising them.
Will it help with an oral exam?
Speaking regularly is the best preparation for any oral exam, and Katasaga tracks your level against the CEFR scale as you go. Dedicated oral exam practice is coming to Premium.

Anyone aged 16 or over. You confirm your age when you create an account.
